I am Tired

By Hakeem Babalola

If I embraced realism, I believe the world would not laugh at me. They would stop mocking me as an idealist hypocrite. There are many advantages in this. If I adopted the English mixture of extreme practicality and dreaminess, even if I looted the treasury, people would not attack me as much as if I were an idealist. I want to hide under the hide. Bro,

I appreciate your candour and sympatise with your predicament.. but to give up is to let your parents down and betray your upbringing. Good things never come easy.. and even though your article paints a very bleak picture, i am of the opinion that some day, people like you will find relevance in our society as nigeria slowly but surely begins the painful change from mediocrity to excellence...

Keep your chin up...

Mr Babalola,

I truly sympathize with you. This is just a phase, you'll come out of it sooner or later.
Nigeria is not hated by God as some people think. Things will improve.

Hakeem,

It is easy to get tired, to get tired of this country called Nigeria. But should we give up? Should we give in? I say never. Aluta continua and it is no joke, no slogan, not just any repetitive chant. It is a war chant and we must go on. We must DO something, SAY something, BE something, no matter how small. It all counts...

Pick up your spirit and dream again...

"No one should negotiate their dreams. Dreams must be free to flee and fly high. No government, no legislature, has a right to limit your dreams. You should never agree to surrender your dreams" Jesse Jackson

Hakeem do get discouraged by what you see today, because there is always tomorrow, where there is life there is hope to accomplish great things we all must not only act but also dream, not only plan, but believe so keep on dreaming, and it will become a reality some day. Do not get tired .
