Niger-Delta: Freedom Or Oil War?

By Hakeem Babalola
Nigerian Affairs
When citizens could no more stomach their government's insensitivity, dishonesty, brutality, massive looting and inefficiency; and then took up arms in order to sing emancipation, what should we call them? Criminals? Crusaders? Or both? And should the govt - legal or illegal - folds it arms in discharging its primary duty of protecting lives and properties? The Niger-Delta "war" is an intricate and confusing political situation read more

Office Romance

By Juliana Francis
Intimate Affairs

Even me that sounded like a sanctimonious bitch almost fell into the office romance trap. My interest was really ignited by a guy in my office. I had only to see his smiles and my foolish heart goes into a makosa gyration. I thought we could actually tango, if you know what I mean. But before I knew it, I heard from the office Radio Broadcasters that the guy has done several evil things to my well-hidden fortress! read more

By Dr. Adebisi Adewole (PHD)

Nude Women, Wandering Conscience

By Hakeem Babalola
Nigerian Affairs

In protest against the re-run governorship election in Ekiti, a group of women clad in white expressed their dissent with their breasts exposed. They walked round Ado-Ekiti breasting the storm - of election rigging. According to reports, only the elderly women allowed the public to see the two soft fleshy milk-secreting glandular organs. The youths among them protested with their clothes on. Perhaps they are not as naive as the elderly. They probably know the game better than their elders, and so it was unnecessary for them to entertain the on-lookers with their boobs (no pun intended). Thank God the younger women did not emulate their elders in this regard otherwise such nude amusement would have caused confusion more than Iwu's INEC. read more

By Hakeem Babalola
Nigerian Affairs

The title is an assignment being researched by the students of Kaduna Polytechnic HND1 (Higher National Diploma) Mass Communication Department. The curious students had sent "mails of this nature to national commentators" like me to respond. The question being asked by these student communicators is as interesting as is timely. It is a question I believe should be on our lips - every minute if possible read more
