In Loving Memory of Mrs Mojisola Ogunsola

(Mama Alakara)
Mrs Mojisola Abeke Ogunsola was born to the family of Ogunmakinde on October 24, 1948 in a village called Iwaraja near Ilesha, Ogun State of Nigeria. Mojisola went to a primary school in Ilesha. She lost her father at a tender age, an incident which automatically terminated her education. Mojisola then moved to Ghana where she lived with her aunt (her father's younger sister) until she turned 16 when she re-located to Nigeria. Mojisola was trained as a photographer.

Mojisola met her late husband, Ishola Ogunsola, in 1965 and they got married in 1966. With others as Yoruba secular dramatists, they formed a theatre comapny called Ishola Ogunsola Theatre Group. It was the moment Mojisola distinguished herself as one of the best in the industry.
But it was not only in the theatre industry that Mojisola distinguished herself. She was a mother to everyone in the community, feeding and caring for as many that knocked on her door. She was a peacemaker, settling disputes here and there

Indeed, she was a mother to many. And most especially she devoted her life to Jesus Christ, a position she passionately held until she slept with the Lord on August 25, 2009.

Mojisola as the first wife was in charge of the administration of their theatre group after Ishola Ogunsola passed on to glory in 1992. Mojisola devotedly took care of the family business with the assistance of other wives. Due to her large heart, she accommodated all the children irrespective of whether they were her own or not.

Her marriage was blessed with five children namely Bolanle, Olalekan, Olakunle, Moronke and Oluyomi.

A burial and memorial service was held in her honour in Ibadan, Nigeria and Manchester, England respectively.
